History of The Todd Organization

The Todd Organization pioneered the Non-Qualified executive benefit industry. In 1957, John O. Todd, Sr., founder of the Todd Organization, implemented the first Non-Qualified benefit program at the Cargill Company in Minnesota, followed soon thereafter with General Electric, the first major public company to utilize the benefits of corporate owned life insurance (COLI).

Then, in 1977, Todd continued to build on its legacy by implementing a Non-Qualified Deferred Compensation plan using insurance at a large bank. The success of the plan helped provide momentum to the Bank Owned Life Insurance (BOLI) market, and by the early 1990’s Todd was helping to implement BOLI programs at many large banks across the country.

Over time, the requirements of corporate business has evolved from primarily structuring advanced applications of life insurance contracts to designing benefit plans that utilize multiple funding sources and require sophisticated plan administration and information technology. Experienced Todd Consultants have helped to design, implement, finance, and administer hundreds of plans throughout every industry.
